The only thing you need to do is enjoy. Here are some images to give you a taste. Experience the atmosphere!
Outside
You don’t go to Norway to stay indoors… Outdoor living is part of the Norwegian way of life. Whether it’s warm or cold, beautiful or less-than-great weather, you can enjoy living outside perfectly at our cabin during both the winter and summer months.
We have built beautiful large terraces both in the front and back. In the front, you can enjoy a stunning view of the mountains while sitting in a Scandinavian chair around a fire pit. In the back, we have a covered terrace with an outdoor fireplace, heat lamp, seating area, table, and chairs. Even when it’s chilly and raining, you can comfortably sit outside here.
Enjoy the beautiful and unspoiled nature! Here are some photos to give you a taste. Experience the atmosphere!
Location of the Lodge
Hallingdal - Torpoase
Location hut
Our cabin is located at an altitude of 970m on Torpoäsen – the plateau in the mountains near the village of Torpo. You’ll find the village between Gol and Äl in the Hallingdal region. This area is situated midway between Bergen and Oslo, close to the Norwegian fjords, glaciers, and waterfalls.
The cabin is located 195 km or a 3-hour drive from Oslo including the journey from the valley to the mountains. You can fly into Gardermoen (Oslo International Airport) or dock at the Oslo Stenaline port. Whether you depart from the port or the airport, the distance and travel time to our cabin are the same.
For skiers, it’s worth noting that our cabin is located right in the middle between Hemsedal and Geilo, the two main ski resorts in Norway.
Location Cabin – region Hallingdal
Hallingdal is one of the most visited tourist regions in Norway and serves as the meeting point between Eastern and Western Norway. It is the ideal region for an active outdoor holiday. You’ll spend a true Norwegian mountain holiday among the many national parks.
Hiking, biking, mountain biking, fishing, canoeing, rafting… The options are endless. For those wanting to soak up some culture, you can visit the Torpo Stavkirke, which is the only remaining stavkirke (wooden church) from the Middle Ages. In Gol and Äl, many events are also organized during the summer months.
Hallingdal is a true paradise for skiers during the winter months. The two main ski resorts, Hemsedal and Geilo, are both located in Hallingdal. In addition, you’ll also find many smaller ski areas.
With over 2,000 km of cross-country skiing trails, it is one of the most beloved regions for Norwegians to practice their national sport.
